Cormar Carpets Encourage Gaining Through Training
Cormar Carpets, one of the UK’s leading carpet manufacturers has proved yet again that they’re on top of their game following their third successful carpet and flooring course. Completed in partnership with the Flooring Guild, the course was a triumph among the independent carpet retailers that attended.
Offering independent carpet retailers from around the UK the opportunity to enhance their industry knowledge and selling skills, the course was overseen by Ray Morgan from the Flooring Guild who, with more than twenty years experience in carpets and flooring, is an industry expert. The Flooring Guild is a UK based training company that aims to educate and train professionals from the sector in order to improve standards throughout the industry.
Spanning three days, the ‘Selling Quality Carpets’ event took place at Cormar Carpets Brookhouse Mill office in Bury from June 6th. Thirteen independent carpet shops were invited to select employees to attend the course, which covered a range of modules, including planning and estimating, retail selling skills and knowledge of carpet products. The course also included a tour of both Brookhouse and Holme Mills, to allow students to witness the process firsthand.
From Islandwide Carpet in Isle of Wight, Richard Burton Smith said of the course: “Even though I have been in the carpet trade for 13 years, the amount of information I picked up was amazing.”
Cormar Carpets Marketing Director, David Cormack commented: “Ray Morgan of the Flooring Guild has great experience in running these carpet and flooring courses and every year we get really good feedback from the carpet shops and carpet retailers that attend the course. We also firmly believe that these courses help develop the skills that the retail trade needs – whether those delegates are newcomers to carpets or have been in the trade for a while.”
