Green Carpet Cleaner

Green Carpet Cleaner
I need some general info on carpet cleaning products.?

1) How do they work?
2) Which brands do you recommend for which types of stains?
3) Are ‘green’ (or organic) carpet cleaners as effective as chemical-based solutions?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Also, what are the differences in cleaning power between the foamed or powdered carpet cleaning products?

Method makes some, Folex makes one and Krud Kutter all make chemical free, non-toxic biodegradable cleaners for carpet that also have other uses. I am finding that having one cleaner for multiple purposes and just diluting it for the job at hand is not only convenient, but saves time and energy. Folex is great for most stains on upholstery and carpet, but can be used on walls and woodwork as well. Krud Kutter is my new best friend because it can be diluted for use on just about anything. It cuts through kitchen grease, removed soot and the smoke smell from a fire I had a few months ago from the walls, the carpet, upholstered furniture, draperies and still cleans the bathroom leaving it sparkling without soap scum. And you can load it in the power washer to clean the house, trim, shutters and cement surfaces. I still use my Nature’s Miracle for pet accidents, however. It is a natural enzyme that breaks down the bacteria in animal vomit, urine or feces and keeps them from repeating the mistake in the same area. In my estimation, these “green” products work better than some of those that aren’t.

As for the dry carpet cleaners vs the foam, I prefer the dry. Resolve makes one, Capture and Tech all do, too. Most of them also contain natural enzymes to “eat up” the dirt and do a better job than foams. They also can serve other purposes, like cleaning lampshades, purses, and fabric shoes.
